Honey and Rosewater Seltzer

Honey and Rosewater Seltzer

Here’s a refreshing hot weather drink for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.  This drink is a perfect compliment for the Stuffed Apricots dessert.  You can find rosewater in many supermarkets these days and definitely on  Cheers!

Recipe and concept by: Arlene Jacobs  – Serves 1

8-10 ounces of Seltzer

½ cup liquid honey

1-1/2 tsps. rosewater

4”-piece of orange zest

2 tbsps. lemon juice

  1. Combine the honey with ½ cup of water. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add the rosewater and allow the syrup to cool.
  2. In a glass with ice cubes, add the seltzer, pour 3 tbsps. of the syrup and the lemon juice into the glass. Add a twist of orange zest.

OPTIONAL: Use Moroccan rosebuds as a garnish, which are available online or in a middle-eastern market.

NOTE: Remaining syrup can be held in the fridge for several weeks for further use. This recipe would be nice with Proseco in place of the soda.
